Worship

“Sing songs from your heart to Christ. Sing praises over everything, any excuse for a song to God the Father in the name of our Master, Jesus Christ.” Ephesians 5:19-20 The Message

We believe that worship is one of the primary ways we grow in our relationships with God, with each other, and with the world.

We call the time of worship a “service” because we serve God as we give our praise, adoration, confession, thanksgiving, and offering.

Even so, we often come away feeling refreshed and nourished, cleansed and energized.  Worship reminds us that we serve God for the sake of others.  The scriptures call and inspire us to live lives that are pleasing to Christ and a blessing to our neighbors.

Hinton Avenue UMC enjoys worship that is varied and vibrant.  Strong bliblical preaching, beautiful music of a wide range of styles, honest prayers for ourselves, our neighbors, and our world, and a warmth of welcome that expresses genuine openness and care make every Sunday at Hinton Avenue a special event.  When we worship, we grow stronger, deeper, and richer in the Body of Christ alongside one another.
